As a community hub, right in the heart of Chester, we’re a place where people can come together and share a unique swimming experience.
Since we opened in 1901, generations of swimmers have enjoyed our baths. And we’re proud to offer a wide range of facilities and services to local people and visitors alike. We warmly welcome people of all ages and abilities. Underpinned by a passion for swimming and fitness, we aim to provide a friendly and supportive space that boosts wellbeing for everyone.
We are a charitable organisation, dedicated to safeguarding the baths in all their historic glory, for the future benefit of our community.

Staying afloat takes a little help
Chester City Baths is a charity run by volunteers with paid lifeguards and a pool manager. Sadly ticket sales alone don’t cover the costs of running our pool and maintaining the beautiful Victorian building it sits in.
